Project History

  1. 2021: Lifelong Silverton residents, brothers George and Earnest Zanoni approached the Town of Silverton with the opportunity to purchase 1.2 acres east of the Anvil Mountain Subdivision. 
  2. 2022: DOLA awarded Town of Silverton IHOI Grant to purchase land. 
  3. 2023: Town of Silverton was awarded a Brownfields Revitalization Grant for environmental assessment. 
  4. Winter 2024: Town of Silverton & Silverton Housing Authority awarded CHFA Small Scale Housing Technical Assistance for conceptual planning for site. 
  5. Spring 2024: Phase I and II Environmental Assessments completed.
  6. Summer 2024: Board reviews 1st draft of conceptual plans. Town of Silverton conveys land to Silverton Housing Authority 8/26/2024.
  7. Current: Conceptual plans technical assistance wrapping up. 
  8. Next Steps: Environmental Cleanup, apply for infrastructure funding, install infrastructure, release RFP for developer.
