- 2022: Colorado Housing and Finance Authority - Small Scale Housing Program Technical Assistance created the Anvil Mountain Subdivision Conceptual Plan. Identified Lots 30 and 1 in Anvil for future apartment complexes.
- 2023: Town of Silverton Awarded U.S. EPA Brownfields Multipurpose Grant: $800,000.
- 2024: Town of Silverton awarded DOLA Energy/Mineral Impact Assistance: More Housing Now Grant $79,281 with $8,809 from San Juan County's Lodgers Tax Affordable Housing/Childcare Fund for predevelopment site engineering.
- 2024: Boxcar Apartment sites identified as priority for Brownfields Grant: Phase I and II Environmental Assessment & Clean-up.
- 2024 Spring/Summer: Request For Qualifications for Predevelopment Site Engineering released.
- 2024 August: Town of Silverton awarded RFQ to SGM Inc. Scope: site grading & drainage plans, utility plans, retaining wall plans, etc....
- Current: SGM begins RFQ Boxcar Apartments Predevelopment Engineering - Spring 2025. Ramboll Americas Engineering Solutions, Inc. conducts Phase I and II Environmental Assessment & clean-up. Summer 2024-2025.
- Next Steps:
- Apply for grant funding for infrastructure installation.
- Install infrastructure.
- RFP for developer.
- Begin construction.
